    How to Disable Right Click on WordPress

    Are you worried about having your images stolen from your WordPress website?

    Then you need to know how to disable right click on WordPress

    By disabling right clicks, you can stop the site’s visitors from cutting, copying, pasting, saving images or seeing your site’s code with the inspect command, amongst many other things.

    (But if you’re using the site as the Administrator or Site Editor, you can generally still use those options above without problems)

    Although you can’t 100% stop users from copying things from your website, you can make it a lot harder to do, significantly reducing the chances of it happening.

    Interested yet?

    Then read on until the end of this article to know the best way to do disable right clicks on WordPress!

    And first of all, to the burning question in your head…

    How to Disable Right Click on WordPress?

    Simple. Just install a plugin.

    If you browse through the WordPress plugin database, you’ll find a variety of plugins that can protect your site’s content and block commands and clicks that allow visitors to copy it without your permission.

    We’ve separated a guide for the 2 best plugins to disable right click on WordPress for you. Here they are:

    1. WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click Plugin

    This plugin takes the task of disabling right click to another level.

    Not only does it allow you to turn off right clicks, it also lets you disable the CTRL + A, CTRL + C, CTRL + X, CTRL + S, and CTRL + V commands (and the OS X equivalents). It even lets you turn off the ability to select text.

    This means you can thoroughly protect your images and text.

    Within the WordPress admin area, you will find a setup menu to control the bans that the plugin generates and enable CSS protection.

    The basic functions of the plugin are free, but you can upgrade to the pro version and enjoy other functions like jQuery overlay protection, watermarking and more.

    Another one of WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click’s features is showing a message warning that the content is protected to anyone who tries to right click on your webpage.

    How to install:

    1. Download it here
    2. Extract the zip file to the wp-content/plugins/ folder
    3. Use WP-Admin to activate the plugin in the Plugins tab of your dashboard

    2. No Right Click Images Plugin

    For those who are predominantly worried about the images on their websites, this is the ideal plugin.

    Prevent users from copying or pirating your images with this easy-to-use plugin, which utilizes JavaScript to disable the right-click action on IMG tags.

    This plugin disables the right clicks on images only, which means that other right click actions function normally.

    Also, some browsers prevent JavaScript from modifying the context menu behavior. To work around this issue, the plugin uses a replacement image that will be briefly used when the image is clicked.

    A useful feature of this plugin is that you can disable the dragging of images, to prevent users from dragging the image from the page to their PC and disable touch events that let you prevent users from downloading your site’s images when using smartphones or tablets.

    How to install:

    1. Download it at this page
    2. Upload what you’ve downloaded into the wp-content/plugins directory
    3. Activate it on the Plugins tab in your dashboard

    That’s it! You’re now ready to protect your website by disabling right clicks!

    How to redirect HTTP to HTTPs in .htaccess

    0

    Today’s standard is to have an https certificate. Google will love you if your sites are secured. So https is not standard, it’s must-have! Easy way to make your website secured is making a redirect from HTTP to HTTPS in the .htaccess file.

    33.2% of Alexa top 1,000,000 websites use HTTPS as default, 57.1% of the Internet’s 137,971 most popular websites have a secure implementation of HTTPS, and 70% of page loads (measured by Firefox Telemetry) use HTTPS. Statistics are from April 2018.

    Redirect HTTP to HTTPs in .htaccess

    Using this code to successfully redirect your domain from http to https is the easiest way:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
    RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L]

    Using the 301 'permanently moved' redirect will help transfer your SEO rankings. To redirect using the 302 'temporarily moved' change [R=302,L]

    Redirect HTTP to HTTPs with a plugin in WordPress

    If you are not familiar with .htaccess, you can use a plugin Really Simple SSL. The plugin has no complicated settings, but for this problem it’s overkill.

    How to fix TypeError: $ is not a function in WordPress

    0

    We can guess. You purchased a theme or plugin and a console shown a message “TypeError: $ is not a function”? Ok, maybe you did not purchase anything and the TypeError was created with no reason or with manual customization. It doesn’t matter. What matters, how to fix the problem!

    How can you fix the TypeError?

    The first solution is to rename all references of $ to jQuery:

    $( "a" ).hide(); to jQuery( "a" ).hide();

    The second solution is to wrap your code using:

    <script>
    jQuery(function($) {
        ...your code goes here
    });
    </script>

    Or you can simply add to the top of the problematic .js document (or to the tag):

    <script>
    var $ = jQuery.noConflict();
    </script>

    Using of jQuery.noConflict() function causes that $ is undefined and you are probably writing in a .js document $ in a front like this:

    $(document).ready(function() { });

    And you should be writing this:

    jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
        // your code goes here
    });

    WordPress may use $ for something other than jQuery and so you need to load jQuery in a different way.

    I hope that your problem was fixed with theses solutions. If your problem persists, leave a comment and we’ll try to help you.

    How to fix Unknown collation: ‘utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci’

    0

    Unknown collation is probably caused because your local and live server are running different versions of MySQL. This problem mostly comes when you migrate websites between servers. The error message looks like this:

    **ERROR** database error write Unknown collation: 'utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci'
    #1273 – Unknown collation: ‘utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci’

    How to solve the problem?

    You can solve the problem with a few different ways. An easy way is updating your MySQL on the new server but not everyone can do that.

    The second solution is in the SQL file. Open the sql file in your text editor and follow these steps:

    1. Search: utf8mb4_unicode_ci
      Replace: utf8_general_ci (Replace All)
    2. Search: utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci
      Replace: utf8_general_ci (Replace All)
    3. Search: utf8mb4
      Replace: utf8 (Replace All)

    The third solution is working with SQL file as well. Find in your .sql file this row:

    ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8mb4 COLLATE=utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci;

    and replace it with

    ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_general_ci;

    If you have a PHPMyAdmin, you can follow steps below:

    1. Click the Export tab for the database
    2. Click the Custom radio button.
    3. Go the section titled Format-specific options and set the dropdown button to MYSQL40.
    4. Scroll to the bottom and click GO.

    Is it your unknown collation problem solved now? Write down your comment on which solution works for you.

    0

    There are three simple ways how to check which version of WordPress you are using. If you have a WordPress site, it will be certainly useful for you but it’s not a necessary thing that you need to know.

    Find the file wp-includes/version.php

    wordpress version

    This file contains version information for the current WordPress release since WordPress version 1.1.0.

    Meta name=”generator”

    Faster way, that will give you the version is a meta tag. Unless someone to delete this, you should be able to view source code (ctrl+u) on the site and look for this meta tag:

    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress 5.1.1" />

    TIP: ctrl+f -> find “generator”

    Admin Panel Dashboard

    On the Dashboard in Admin Panel, you can find a box called “At a Glance“. There you can see the version of the WordPress installation.

    7 Powerful AMP Plugins & Themes for WordPress and WooCommerce

    0

    Designing a website from scratch is no big deal – but how well are you optimizing it? If you’ve only been on WordPress or WooCommerce for a bit, chances are you’re still experimenting with features and plugins. Likewise, there’s a whole world of plugins out there aimed at keeping your site attractive and easy to use; but some who can deliver much more than surface-level features. Cue the AMP Plugins & Themes for WordPress and WooCommerce!

    What Is AMP?

    Accelerated Mobile Page (AMP) is an open-source library that allows website owners a number of improvements to their page. Digital marketers use this plugin to load their pages instantaneously, optimize use across mobile devices, achieve higher search engine results and many more. Its also supported by many browsers and platforms, but have their own range of customized Accelerated Mobile Page plugins for WordPress and WooCommerce. As of right now, AMP currently runs across nearly 30 million domains, 100+ Internet providers and websites ranging from e-commerce, ad tech platforms, publishers and the works.

    What to Look for in AMP Plugins for WordPress and WooCommerce

    Now that you’re interested – what’s the next step? There are dozens of different enhanced AMP plugins for WordPress and WooCommerce; so here’s what you should be looking for in a good one:

    • Improves JavaScript function – If your page runs alongside JavaScript, there is a slight chance that it can block DOM construction every once in a while; leaving your page slow to render. The AMP plugin you get should be one that handles improvements made to page interactivity and only allows asynchronous JavaScript – so that they both don’t clash!
    • Allow for a layout to load first – Ever visit a website that loads its pictures and text first, but takes a while for its entire layout to appear? A good AMP should nip that right in the bud. This plugin should know the difference between a page and layout and its elements (text, pictures, frames, etc) so that it loads the layout from the HTTP request before anything else.
    • Loading pages quickly – A lot of digital marketers and website owners make the mistake of taking for granted the load time for their pages. Not only will a slow process be highly unprofessional; if you’re running an e-commerce site, it might also turn away some potential customers! A good plugin would load your site instantly –an excellent one would load it before users even click on it. This is called pre-rendering and although uses up a lot of bandwidth and CPU function, is a nifty tool if you want your site to be totally accessible, fast and user-friendly.

    List of AMP Plugins for WordPress and WooCommerce

    With this AMP plugin, you can easily choose where to place your ad and customize it in a way that you think will be less intrusive to your readers. Be careful with this feature though. You can place the ad at the very bottom of your page would be fine too, but it might not get enough clicks. All in all, it’s up to you and what you think would be best suited for your readers or customers.

    Customizing the layout and elements on AMP is relatively simple – but it gets a little tricky for page builders.
