WordPress and media. That’s the topic for a book. Sometimes is not easy to find what you need and when you have thousands of images, videos, or any media files, you really need to know how to bulk delete from your website or how to manage it.
In my opinion, WordPress is not working well with media files. As a daily user, I know how to use or delete it properly but when I have got a big media library, it’s pure chaos. For better media library management a few plugins exist but I will write about another article.
Go straight to the point, how to bulk Delete Media in WordPress?
Login and go to the Media Library in the administration. Click on the button “Bulk Select“.

After that, you can manually select all files that you want to delete. If you are done, click on the button “Delete Permanently“.
But this is comfortable only for a few media files. What about hundred or thousands of files? For that, I can recommend plugin called Media Cleaner which cleans your Media Library from the media files which aren’t used in your website, as well as broken entries.
Bulk DELETE does not work, it only deletes the first few images selected
